Rules that are more favorable come into play with the “en prison” and “la partage” options. These options, found generally on French roulette wheels, allow you to save some money when your even odds bet (red/black, odd/even) loses to a zero.
Instead of the bet being entirely lost, it is held “in prison” for the next spin. If you win the next spin, the bet releases back to you. In la partage, you can either choose the en prison option or simply surrender half your bet and keep the other half.
